Hello,

Since you have visited my website, you have already begun to know a little bit about me. For those who skipped over my bio however, let me begin to explain the nature of this blog as I believe it will resonate with many of my fellow recent graduates. Two weeks ago I graduated with my masters in Journalism and Mass Communication. I worked hard, earning a 4.0 GPA and holding down both a graduate and a teaching assistantship. These assistantships and my classes have been a great experience, but now as my school contracts wind down, I am left to ponder the next step. Like many others, I am on the hunt for a job trying desperately to avoid becoming a “boomeranger” and moving back to the parents’ house. Not that I do not love my parents, but at 25 my goal is to keep moving forward rather than digressing back to the very bedroom where I spent my awkward teen years. Because face it, everyone would rather not relive that phase.

While I have several leads and remain hopeful, I know that it is a hard marketplace today. I am willing and able to move anywhere and can be extremely flexible; opening options but making it hard to begin knowing where to look. I will begin to share daily experiences (successes and blunders) with all of you in the hope of reaching out to others in my position as well as having a spot to share tips with each other. Feel free to comment back as I would love to hear from you!

Step 1: Create a site and start a blog. Look for step 2 tomorrow, once I decide what that is…

Cheers,

Jenna
